Patrol Trainee Program
The Mt Shasta Ski Patrol's Patrol Trainee Program is designed to train and development the necessary skills to needed to become a professional Mt Shasta Ski Patroller.
Below are the basic requirements to enter the Patrol Trainee Program:
1. Apply to be a Patroller - www.Skipark.com
2. Successfully pass a skiing or boarding skills assessment
3. Provide copies of the following:
EMT or higher certification or
Emergency Care certification provided by the National Ski Patrol (NSP).
Healthcare provider-level CPR card from a recognized organization
The Patrol Trainee Program consists of a series of disciplines on which you will be trained and evaluated.
o Ski/Snowboard Proficiency
o Hill Safety
o Incident Site Management
o Skier Responsibility Code, Slope Style
o Risk Management
o Bump Shack opening procedure
o Radio Procedures
o Ropes and Knots
o Patrol Manual familiarization
o Attend Chair Lift Evacuation Training
